Instead of using 100 million for new facilities for the business school, Mr. Ross should just pay for the tuition of BBA's for the next 20 years or more. That seems to be the best way to spend the money in my opinion being we probably won't be here to see the new changes this money will bring. Wouldn't that be sweet
I think it would be sweet if all future BBAs got their tuition paid for, except if not seeing the fruits of the 100m is your problem, then the tuition reimbursment isn't going to be very benificial either, since if you're a senior this is your last year. Rebuilding the entire B-school will be amazing for future recruitment and placement as the top school in the country. While you may not see it during your time at Michigan, you will be an alumni forever.

I disagree - spending $100 million on infrastructure and development is much more efficient than allocating an endless supply of tuition grants. While I do agree that a portion of the donation should be used for need-based scholarships, I am confident in the University's ability to utilize this donation effectively.
Our facilities and staff compete with those of the top schools in the country. Imagine the b-school in five years, any temporary economic turmoil will have little to no effect on current planning and development for the future. How many schools can guarantee that such a large sum of funding will be available well into the future?
And by the way, this will end up helping YOU. As the Business School becomes more competitive (utilizing the donation), employers will continue to recognize the capabilities of UM's B-school and preemptively recruit from our school.
